Die Rise, otherwise known as Great Leap Forward, is the fourteenth map in the Zombies game mode. Die Rise was included in the Revolution downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops II. The downloadable content pack was released on January 29, 2013 for the Xbox 360, February 28, 2013 for both the PlayStation 3 and PC.

OverviewEdit

Die Rise takes place in two skyscrapers in post-apocalyptic Shanghai, China. The top half of the spawn building is broken off and wedged upside-down between the two skyscrapers, bridging the gap between them while effectively acting as a third building. It is also the first map in Zombies to introduce a true element of verticality, including broken elevator shafts, upside down skyscrapers, deadly falls, and elevators which transport randomized Perk-a-Cola machines and the Pack-a-Punch machine up and down the skyscraper. When jumping from building to building, mattresses are scattered throughout to prevent injury from the jumps. The map contains tighter corridors and long vertical drops which may down the player if the player does not pay attention to their surroundings. 

The map introduces the Sliquefier, a new buildable wonder weapon, the Trample Steam, which has the capability to fling players and zombies alike. Die Rise also introduces a new enemy, Jumping Jacks which resemble the Gas Zombies in Call of Duty: Black Ops. The Jumping Jacks come every four to five rounds and have the ability to teleport around the environment. Along with the Jumping Jacks, zombies with higher health are also introduced. These zombies can be easily identified by their body armor. A new Perk-a-Cola, Who's Who, was also introduced. Who's Who enables players to revive themselves by controlling a doppelganger wielding a M1911. Other players in Who's Who can also revive their teammates.

After a recent patch, the refridgerator and the bank booths from TranZit have both been added into the map. They can be found by going to the power room from the freight elevator, and jumping over the gap. The refridgerator carries over the weapon from TranZit (should one store a weapon in Green Run) or one can place a weapon and carries over to TranZit. The bank booths are in the form of shower stalls located in the next room behind the refridgerator. Points attained in TranZit are carried over to Die Rise and vice versa.
